I've read "Starlight and Time: Solving the Puzzle of Distant Starlight in a Young Universe" by D. Russell Humphreys, Ph.D. and very much enjoyed it.
Today there is an article at AiG about a new book on Astronomy called "Taking Back Astronomy". Here's a blurb but you can read the whole thing HERE.
"It is not commonly known that many of the Bible’s statements about astronomy went against the generally accepted teachings of the time. Undoubtedly, many of these verses would have seemed counter-intuitive, and may have been difficult to believe when they were first written.
Modern science, however, has confirmed what the Bible has taught. As in all things, the Bible is absolutely correct when it teaches about the universe."
Another interesting spot in the Word that shows even when speaking on different subjects God never violates Truth. In this case that the world is round.
Check out Luke 17:34-36. Now this is talking about the Rapture of the Church which (without getting into the Rapture) is an event that will take place "in the twinkling of an eye" - instantly. Notice how there are people sleeping, and people working. Where the sleeping people are it is night, where the working people are it's daytime. In other words, the Earth is round, and the the sun is shinning on one side of it. I wouldn't say that the point of this section is the world being round, but it is consistent with that knowledge.
*Of note about the above, the two men would likely be family, and the women are grinding to make flower. This section of Scripture does not depict homosexuality.

Thanks Joseph. I hadn't connected this to James. But I'm going to have to check that out. It will likely lead me to a new understanding of James. I've had a struggle with that book - as many do.
You rock bro!
