Getting Caught Up

This course is boggling my brain. I can't believe I've been so close, but also so far off the mark all this time. Ever wonder if the person you just prayed for salvation with is really saved? What was their motivation to pray "the sinner's prayer"? We're they honestly seeking the Savior? Or might they have just been filling a need to be loved?

Christ Jesus surely does love all of us. Yet it is salvation from the Wrath (that surely is to come) that we come to Him for. That He loves us is the reason He saves us by Grace. We are helplessly guilty of all things until we are justified by Him, cleansed by the shedding of His blood.

You see there is guilt. And it must be paid for. All have broken the 10 commandments. All are guilty. None, no not one seeks after the Lord. A just God had to have these transgressions paid for. And as I've posted here before He knows we are simply not able to pay the price. Our loving God paid that price for us. That's how He showed His love for us.

If the person was seeking the Savior, if they understood their hopeless position without Him and have believed on Him then they are saved. If they were just needing to be loved (and don't we all?) then the topic needs to be addressed with them.

Salvation is the most important concern we can have for those we are in contact with. We must not take it lightly. If the person doesn't know they need a savior, how can they ask for salvation?
