An Apology About My Presentation Of The Gospel

The Gospel that saves is found in 1 Cor 15. For the longest time I've quoted it as 1 Cor 15:1-10 but the founder of the ministry God has allowed me to work with (The Cross Current) quoted 1 Cor 15:1-11 to me this week. I thought he had just made a typo... little did I know!

Verse 11 is very important. Because it removes any possibility that there is more or less to the message of Salvation.

1 Cor 15:11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Paul starts by declaring this is the message that saves. 1 Cor 15:1-2 and finishes his presentation with the CLOSED and CLOSING statement of 1 Cor 15:11 It can't be dismissed because Paul says it's the message that saves. And it can't be added to - or taken away from - because this is what we believed when we believed in Jesus Christ.

Fabulous! I love God's battle plans! If I would rely on Him more any attempt to minister would be that much more effective.

I've got enough material for two posts on Humility... but I don't have the humility required to actually post them tonight.

Man this is really weird. I have been meditating on this passage all week and thinking how Paul qualifies the gospel exclusively at the beginning as being the message that saves. I believe the apostle Paul would correctly and strongly oppose the message of the crossless gospel.

Good post. Praise God.

You're right, Paul preached the Cross constantly. Christ's death, and therefore ours, is the focus of his teaching.

I'm wondering if there is a better way to address the extreme error of the GES.

God Bless!

What you are wondering about is not really of any consequence. Antonio is a battering ram. Any approach you make will fall on deaf ears. I am backing off for now though. They just really need to think long and hard about this. It is not good at all. Take a chill for a while though. Its good to step back and take a breather and gather your thoughts, but still as I said, Antonio is a battering ram and I believe the friendships and emotional attachments on that blog are welded pretty strong. Unfortunately somehow they remain united with a divided message. The finished work of the cross is either a plus sign of peace with God for those who come through there or division with false religion. Jesus did not tell us to keep the peace by putting it on the backburner. If we do, then we have opened up a door of invasion into the Lord's family and a little leaven leavens the whole lump. This is not a minor thing.
