Answers in Genesis are a bunch of people who are afraid of their own shadow, who talk about Genesis more than they study it. A thorough reading of Chapters 1-5 clearly lays out the entire pattern of evolutionary biology. That is what God did. How else would Moses know, if God had not shown it to him? As for crime, those who are motivated to commit crime will always find a rationale. This child doesn't know anything more about evolution than he does about how to be a human being.
Actually if you DO study Genesis you'll quickly see that it contradicts the order of "events" of how Evolutionists say things happened.
As for AiG being scared of their shadows, well have you met these people? Because I've worked with a few and I have to tell you these are front line warriors who are not giving up ground.
AiG is correct in their assesment that Evolution and Genesis can not co-exist in reality. Even if Genesis were to contain errors, Evolution, even Creation using Evolution invalidates the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I'll post a bit more about that later, but I'm on my way out for work now.

I am sure you are correct that the AiG folks are front line warriors. I have heard enough to know they will not back down, even if someone went through Genesis line by line and proved them wrong. I said they were afraid of their own shadows for the same reason I say that about the Anglican bishop who first denounced Darwin: someone stumbles across a set of facts which contradict, not Scripture, but their own pale human shadows of what they thought might be all there was, and their little minds clam up, refusing to see the glory of God reflected in the new observations.
Richard Dawkins has written that evolution invalidates the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, I don't take his word for much of anything. The Selfish Gene is an imaginative work of science fiction. And I did not say that evolutionary biology IS laid out in Genesis, without studying Genesis with that very question in mind.
Genesis doesn't say that God sat down in the mud and crafted little animals. It recounts that God said "Let the water bring forth the living thing that hath life." It also recounts that God continued to work with the life that the waters brought forth, making additional forms of life after the initial command. The interchangeable use of plural and singular, plus the fact that "Adam" in the original Hebrew meant humankind, both male and female, strongly suggests that God could have imparted the soul to an entire tribe of primates. That is speculation, but it is not inconsistent with Scripture.
